- Queen Of Cups The All Feeling Empath
The Queen of Cups features the Queen seated on a throne decorated with cherubic mermaids and fish by the water, staring at a very ornate cup that has a lid on it. The Queen of Cups bears the most ornate cup in the deck. Hers looks like a cup that could be used for religious or ritualistic ceremonies . She has her complete attention given to the cup. The Cup could be linked to the Ace of Cups , which makes it symbolic of the entire range of emotions. The Queen of Cups feels very deeply and can be an empath channeling the feelings of those around her. Her cup reminiscent of religious objects also highlights the intuition of the Queen. She is empathetic, sensitive, kind, spiritual, and has a highly honed intuition at her disposal. She is the only member of the Cups court who has a lid on her cup. The heart of the Queen of Cups is deep and she keeps her feelings to herself. She literally has a lid on her feelings and they are only known to those in her inner circle. The figures on her throne are cherubic since she loves children and animals and nurturing people is just part of who she is! She would make a fantastic mother and her gift is imagination so vivid that she can turn the bathtub into an ocean where one may have vanquished a pirate and saved a mermaid princess!! At her feet lie colored stones, which talk about her collection of memories that are sparkling and animated when seen through the lens of feeling. She is the queen who is the closest to the High Priestess, because of her disposition, intuition, and her yin nature. Her gift is that she allows herself to feel and does not block out emotion. She immerses herself in all the emotions that life throws at her, and lives in the moment. Meditation On the Queen Of Cups There is no instinct like that of the heart. Lord Byron What is in your heart? Are you comfortable with acknowledging it? How about your comfort level with expressing it? Do you take on others' emotions? How does being empathetic impact you? Are you comfortable with feeling grief? What emotions are you trying to block out? Would your life be richer if you just let them wash over you? - The Suit Of Cups
The Minor Arcana showcases daily life. The Suit of Cups in the Minor Arcana corresponds to the element of Water. The cardinal direction that they represent West and the season is autumn. It is thought that the Suit of Cups also known as the Suit of Goblets or Challices was meant to represent the clergy. The Cups are a feminine, passive, receptive, yin element. They correspond to the hearts in modern playing cards. The element of Water rules our hopes, aspirations and dreams. Water could be the gentle sparkling stream or the raging river, the fresh clean ocean or a muddied swamp, sluggish silt-filled river or the wild tidal wave or tsunami. It is the element that encompasses the entire range of emotions from the selfless fountain of compassionate love as seen in the Ace, to focused love for another as seen in the Two of Cups. The element of Water is an expression of ourselves through our friendships as seen in the Three of cups and through the emotional disappointment that we all go through from time to time as seen in the Four of Cups. Water is the element in which we express our grief and mourning as seen in the Five of Cups and our longing for the past when life was simpler as demonstrated by the Six of Cups. Water is the element of mystery and daydreams of regret and longing, of reevaluation and illusion as the seven of cups teaches us. In the Eight, the element of Water takes on its own flow and its own direction. It will flow where it needs to go since emotional desire makes its own path and is very much the realm of water as seen in the Eight of Cups. In the Nine water gushes with the overflow of joy which establishes itself as contentment in the ten of cups. The element of water in its ideal sense is a good representative of healthy self-worth, empathy, compassion, sensitivity, and the community. Reversed or in their negative aspect, the cups spiral downwards into depression, loss of self-worth, grief, melancholy, action paralysis, withdrawal from the world. If a reading contains a lot of cup cards it implies that the querent is more focused on the affairs of the heart and on matters of emotion understanding. Too many cups in a reading can also indicate that we are viewing the reading through the fog of the querents emotions. The cups reversed represent a loss of love, heartbreak, grief, misery and may even refer to addictions to drown out the sorrows of life. The Signs that form the cups court are Pisces, Cancer and Scorpio. The Cups court is artistic, dreamy, self-reflecting and they take their time with people. They are sensitive and out rightly intuitive. While the Page encourages you to open yourself to love in your life, the Knight is the Arthurian ideal of romance, chivalry and beauty. The Queen feels life deeply and reminds you that it is essential to feel deeply as feelings give life its depth. The King shows you how to work through your emotions and master the element of water. At best the people of the Cups suit are dreamy, caring, imaginative and flexible. At worst, there is a tendency to be self-absorbed, escapist and living in fantasies. This is an essential element, after all, we are 75% water. Water is the element that pushes you to go with the flow and to find the flow in your own emotions and inner life. The direction of the flow is ever towards happiness, contentment and joy. - Three Of Wands Virtue & Expansion
What does the Three of Wands imply? The Three of Wands is a wonderful harbinger of growth, showing a man standing on a hill for a better view of the world he is expanding into. This is the stage at which you are willing to leave behind your comfort zone because you are ready to grow! You have made an important decision, and now you want nothing more than to see your project take a life of its own and go into the world! This man is confident of his skill and passion and stands with his back to us. He has made that stride to the top of the mountain from whence he can see the world spread out before him. He has decided to leave his limiting beliefs and his fears and look to the future, and he is dreaming and planning Big!! The Ships represent his aspirations and his couriers. By couriers, I do not mean just people, but also internet algorithms and protocols by which he can grow. This year, there has been so much Work from Home that the ships on the card take on another dimension. The sea on which the ships set sail to go into the vast world, is not blue, but painted in tones of orange as though the sun were setting! This is because the color represents the Fire or the passion of the man in sending out his ships. He is not content to wait it out at the sidelines, instead, he has the carpe diem philosophy and wants to make the most of his current situation. It has taken this man a lot of work to set his ships to sea and then to get to the top of the mountain to watch them. The Three of Wands advises you to see the bigger picture and realize that you are on the path of development and growth, with exhilaration. Your passion is enough to power your journey and it will be a glorious one. On a personal note, this card offers closure. Spread your wings, do be diligent and careful and know that every little step or action you've taken is now coming together, and you are ready to step into the world and claim your spot!! Meditation on the Three of Wands "One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth. - Queen of Wands the Radiant One
The Queen of Wands is passionate, dynamic, independent, creative, radiant and gushing with self-confidence. The Queen of Wands owns the throne she sits on and the space she graces. She has so many good qualities that if we were to highlight the most important, it would be self-confidence and a sense of self-esteem. She sits on a throne that has lions carved on the backrest and on the base. The lions draw our mind to Leo - the Fire sign from the Zodiac. She is framed by sunflowers and carries a sunflower in her hand. The Queen sits on her throne with her legs parted, in a manner appropriate to a king. At her feet sits a cat , that too a black cat! Black Cats have been linked to many superstitions, and at one time had been called the familiar of Witches! For the Queen to own and show off the black cat means that she doesn't really care much about the opinions of others. She has been through a lot in life and has slowly built up her self-esteem to the point that she does not look for, nor need the validation of anyone else. Her confidence allows her to act as she would without the fear of society or the expectations thrust upon her. To that effect, she sits as she pleases , in what would have then been considered an immodest manner. The cat is linked to the Egyptian goddess Bastet, who also did as she pleased. You are being reminded to know your strengths, use them to your benefit and fight for what you believe in. The message here is very clear. When you live life to the fullest and trust in yourself, the universe wants to protect that spark of joy and originality and will find a way to offer its protection to you. You need to be your own authentic self, for there is nothing more fulfilling or attractive than that genuineness. The lions on her throne emphasise the daring, determined endurance of her spirit to be herself no matter what!! The cat also reminds you to start something new, just as the Queen is going against the grain to pose with a black cat!! The Sunflower in her hand, and the ones carved on the backrest, draw our mind to the fact that these flowers will always face the sun. The Queen of Wands is regarded as the sun by those who look upon her, as she is radiant. When we live our truth, we become fearless, and that is extremely bewitching. When we genuinely care for others and lead by example,e we shine. People don't want someone to read a script; they need heartfelt, substance-filled reaching out, which the Queen does. The Sunflowers remind us of her essential good nature. The Queen was once a young girl who may have tried to conform to others' opinions and has since grown to a point where she has, bit by bit, built herself up and developed a sense of self-worth for who she is. Having the queen come up for you reminds you that you do not need to conform to someone else's vision of you. Trust yourself, and live life to the fullest. Do not be afraid to stand up for yourself and value yourself. You are as radiant as the sun, and you should just be you and shine!! Mediation on the Queen of Wands “Why settle for a lesser vision? When you are destiny for greatness!” ― Lailah Gifty Akita, Pearls of Wisdom: Great mind What does your most authentic self want? What is the value you place on yourself? - Wands In the Minor Arcana
The Minor Arcana is a slice of life and catalogues what is happening on a mundane level. The Suit of Wands in the Minor Arcana corresponds to the element of Fire. The cardinal direction that they represent is South, and the season is Summer. It is thought that the wands referred to the Artists and other creative people. The suit of Wands is also known as the Suit of Batons or Clubs. The Wands are a Masculine, active, yang element. They correspond to the clubs in modern playing cards. The element of Fire rules our hopes, aspirations and creative pursuits. Fire aspires to reach high and consume everything in its path. That is the kind of drive that the wands present. However, there is also the danger of fire burning itself out. Wands are the elemental fire. They represent our passions and are fiery. Wands as inner fire represent that which makes us tick and what truly fires us-thereby leading to our passions. The desire of fire is forever to rise and devour everything in its path, and the wands are to try to cover everything. In the Ace of Wands , we see that the enthusiasm is so ripe that the leaves are literally falling off the wand. In the Two of Wands, desire takes root and leads to a choice about how to expand. In the three, we follow the path of that expansion, and in the Four of Wands , the grounding of the Wands commences. In fact, despite the structure offered in the Fours, the Fire cannot be contained, so we have the scene outside, with the tent held together only by garlands. In the Five, we see the competitive nature of fire, where the desire is to rise higher. In the Six, we see victory, as the aspirations have found favour in the direction that they attempted to rise. As we move to the Seven of Wands , we see that passion attracts competitors, and one must fight to hold on to one’s position and views. As we move to the Eights, we see the quickness of the wands as they fly through the air. By the Nines, the fire is almost out, and there is a constant watch to see if anything else is up, and by the time the fire reaches Ten, it is already overburdened. The Fire Signs of Aries, Leo and Sagittarius are represented by the Suit of Wands. Fire people stand out for their enthusiasm, zest for life, and carpe diem mentality. They are charismatic, vibrant and energetic with a passion to travel. They love a challenge and are driven to put in hard work to see their vision materialise. The Wand people are competitive and can spur themselves on, into action to keep ahead of the game. Like the people born under the sign of Sagittarius, they love to and thrive on travel, and like the Leos, they need their share of the spotlight and attention. Like Aries, the court of the Wands needs to be assertive and lead the clan. The King of Wands is the most Emperor-like ruler in the Major Arcana. When the Wands are negatively Aspected, then the Court of the Wands can be aggressive, domineering, and given to bullying. Temper tantrums are rampant. When there is an excess of Wands in a reading, it implies that there has been a phase of a lot of action. This could be great for a phase, but it would be impossible to sustain so much fire, as the energy would be self-consuming. On the negative side, the work put in may not be productive, and interpersonal relations could be strained by a domineering personality. Conversely, too many reversed cards could also mean that the fire has burnt itself out. - Ten Of Pentacles
What is the energy of the Ten of Pentacles? In the Ten of Pentacles, we see a family casually going about the tasks of the day. An old man sits outside the archway looking in, while a child tugs on his mother's dress. The wife casually passes by her husband. The image is complete with the family dogs. On the card, the ten pentacles are arranged in the manner that the spheres are placed on the Jewish Tree of Life. The home is affluent, prosperous, and happy. While the Pentacles deal with financial security and stability, they also encompass the spirit and skill. The Ten of Pentacles is the only card in the deck which carries the Tree of Life on it; there is no card, even in the Major Arcana, that does so. The Ten of Pentacles is above all a card of legacy, both tangible and intangible. It is about what we inherit from our ancestors and what we pass on to our children. In all the suits, the tens are where the element is the strongest, and in the Ten of Pentacles, we see opulence, wealth and tradition being passed on. Rachel Pollack likened the old man to Odysseus returning home after his many adventures, greeted by the dog. Here too, the dogs look happy to greet their master. On the arch next to the man is a coat of arms displaying a castle, reminding us that a man's home is his castle and a place of comfort. The Mans Robes also hint at his wealth and affluence. While this card is about the legacy of what we receive, it is also about the grounded hard work that the Pentacles are known for. In the background on the left-hand side, we see the pillars of the Moon and the water that flows therein. The old man has lived a life rich in experience and has seen ups and downs, and yet has maintained and built upon his inheritance so that he may have something to pass on to his children. This, too, is a card of gratitude, where we should thank our ancestors for what we inherited from them, be it material or intangible, such as a secret family recipe we guard or a special knack for numbers. When we reach out with gratitude, the universe channels and pours out more goodness for us to receive. When the Ten of Pentacles appears, it hints at tradition and legacy, at the foundations of our being. Our heirlooms, those we inherit and those we pass on, are our values, our empathy, our connectedness and our family values. It is a card of success, and seeing it calls to mind what success means to us, and how it defines us. Are we more connected, and do we form a circle of continuation as we see what we pass on to our next generation? Meditations on the Ten Of Pentacles “If you would not be forgotten as soon as you are dead, either write something worth reading or do something worth writing.” —Benjamin Franklin What is the most cherished legacy that you have inherited? What is the legacy that you want to be remembered for? Are you on the path to creating a financially and morally sound foundation that will not be weathered by time? What are the values that you want to pass down to your heirs? Do we value what we have inherited from our ancestors or do we take it all for granted, with a sense of entitlement? What kind of connectedness do you have within our family? Are you a part of a tightly-knit family unit? If so, how can you uphold that torch? Alternatively, if you did not have a close-knit family, then how do you create a space where your children are tightly knit!! Do you think about what is the source of your security, and how lasting is that source? If this Resonates with You Take A Class or Book A Reading . Images Used on The Site. - Ace of Pentacles
The Ace of Pentacles represents the potential for tangible new beginnings, material gain, abundance, prosperity, wealth, and skill. The Ace of Pentacles presents an Idyllic garden, which has been well cared for and nurtured. We can see both roses and lilies in the garden, imagery that runs through the Rider-Waite-Smith deck. A lush archway leads out of the garden to the distant mountain peaks. In the sky, a divine hand appears, lovingly holding and offering the seeker a pentacle. The Suit of Pentacles is the most practical suit in the Minor Arcana, as it deals with matters of the material world. In the realm of the Pentacles, fall finances, money, investments, savings, our own physical health, abundance, prosperity and inheritance. However, the Pentacles stand for so much more. They mention the skill one has acquired and a person's inheritance in terms of the legacy they have. The French philosopher, Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, had famously mentioned, “We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.” The Tarot understands that truth, and we see the art of Pamela Coleman Smith refer to this, as the Ace of Pentacles is the only Ace that does not have a yod on it. It is also the only suit that carries on its pip the magical symbol of the Tree of Life, from the Jewish Kabalah, a symbol that refers to the descent of the spirit from the source to the material world. The Ace of Pentacles, like the other aces, symbolises a glorious new beginning and dominates the material place. It could be the birth of a new business, project, or venture, or a new opportunity that augurs financial success. The Ace is the potential in your life for a change to occur in the material realm. However, all Aces are but potentials without the hard work that goes into manifesting them. The Ace of Pentacles shows a lush garden that stands for creativity, abundance and fertility that can only be made possible by the consistent hard work that goes into maintaining a living entity, and in the garden lies the greatest hint to manifesting financial and material success - the gift of tenacity and persistent labour. A garden demands care and consistent de-weeding. In the same way, one must constantly train the mind with discipline (another hallmark of the pentacles) to stay on track with positive thinking as we manifest what we focus on. Pentacles are the suit that takes the longest to manifest but brings something tangible into our lives. Hold on to your courageous determination, and know that your life is about to change for the better. This Ace is definitely a gift if you hold on to your vision and work on it. The Archway is a symbol of mastery, and it leads to the hills, which symbolise the path the spirit takes to find its way back to its source. Archways also lead to other spaces, thereby suggesting new opportunities the aces offer. Hard work leads us to satisfaction and contentment, which is real and, in this particular card, also soon to be tangible! The Path also represents our own journey to mastery and to externalise and create in the physical world our inner mindscape. What better way to find happiness than enjoy the work that one embarks upon, since it's the journey itself that counts. Be bold and follow your vision! The Lilies and the Roses bring to mind the Magician, who shows us that it is possible to manifest whatever we focus on. The Lilies stand for fertility and purity of intent. The roses, on the other hand, symbolise our passions. The five-pointed rose, much like the Pentacle on the coin, draws to mind the merging of the spirit with the four elements, and here in the Ace, we see the spirit merge with Matter, thereby making the Ace of Pentacles so much more than financial benefit. The flowers in the garden represent happiness and gratitude to the spirit for all its blessings. A life that flows with gratitude brings joy to everyone it touches and draws into itself myriad blessings. Meditation on the Ace of Pentacles “Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty… I have never in my life envied a human being who led an easy life. I have envied a great many people who led difficult lives and led them well.” - Theodore Roosevelt, American Ideals: And Other Essays, Social and Political The Ace of Pentacles is a gift. What is the gift that you desire? What are you willing to do to create it? What is the ideal gift that you have created for yourself? What are you grateful to work for? What drives you? How do you receive abundance in your life? What thoughts do you need to purge to de-weed your garden so that you can make it your own personal Eden?
