The Ace of Cups is about the overflow of love in our lives. It is absolute, infinite and pervasive love that fills all aspects of our soul. The Ace's in the Tarot, are all gifts from the divine to us. The Ace of Cups in particular features a hand that materializes out of the air and offers us a cup that is overflowing in a manner to amply satiate all five senses as demonstrated by the five overflowing streams from the cup. Have you ever walked around feeling happy for no reason and flowing with love for everyone you come across? What a blissful state of existence! Those are the days when we smile indulgently at situations that would otherwise annoy us. Our heart sings and feels light. This is the imperative at which we were meant to exist, live and thrive. This is the spirit that the divine had envisioned for us and therefore we see the holy dove carrying in the communion wafer into the cup. This is divine love crossing paths with human love- platonic and non-platonic, but all unconditional. The water overflows in the form of yods and a yod is the formative mother letter, of the Jewish script. The streams of water or love fall down into the universal pool of love for every living thing and flow over the lilypads and the lotus flowers. The lotus flower is sacred in the East because it seeds and blooms simultaneously. Hinduism, Buddhism, and the South-East Asian cultures have deities that use the Lotus as their seat. The Lotus blossoms in the swamp yet is a paragon of virtue, purity and beauty! We too can go through life with love in our hearts, untouched by the cynicism that abounds. This one card brings together the major religions to affirm, Love does not divide on any account. It is meant to unite and grow! The more love you give, the more you have. So today, the Ace of Cups, pronounces that this is a period of connection, friendship and happiness. Your troubles will soon fade away and you will be at home, in a nurturing and supportive environment of love.

If so, think from a place of love. Why does it bother you- are you worried about the future? Let that go since it is not in your control. what you can do is fill the present with love and the future will work itself. Let go of expectations and think with empathy and compassion and see your life change for the better. I particularly loved this method of bringing and holding the love in your heart: “Love is made up of three unconditional properties in equal measure: 1. Acceptance 2. Understanding 3. Appreciation Remove any one of the three and the triangle falls apart. Which, by the way, is something highly inadvisable.
