- Eight of Swords
We see a woman whose hands are tied up and bound, and who is blindfolded. She stands in muddied water, with eight swords behind her. When the Eight of Swords appears, it is an indication that you may have options, but none of them seem palpable. This is in the simplest manner of speaking a card of "being stuck in a rut". There is no way out and no possible way further or back. There is a feeling of being trapped, and being arrested by fear. The situation has managed to make you feel as though you have been abandoned and this feeds into thoughts of worthlessness or being overwhelmed which in turn spirals into depression. It doesn't help that emotions muddy your rationality and they too end up feeding into the downward spiral of negative thinking that you are being sucked into. The mind plays tricks and makes you believe that you've been cornered or ambushed, and yet when you look at the card, notice that the woman isn't fenced in. She can move if she'd only try, and walk off to find help. She is possibly being held captive by the fear that holds her in that position. If only she would walk out and call for help or take her situation into her own hands, she could move. She has lost the fight in her, and that may be because of her depression, and her isolation. Our mind is far crueler than any of our opponents and can really bring down a person from the inside. The way forward is thinking out of the box, shedding the limiting behavior and victim mentality that keeps one bound, or if nothing else seems viable, seeking professional help. Sometimes we may have been victims of abuse so subtle, that we don't recognize those patterns in ourselves that keep us chained to an undesirable situation. It calls to mind Macbeth where he mentions "should I wade no more, Returning were as tedious as go o’er,” which means sometimes we are in a situation so deep, that going forward with the flow is as hard is returning back to the beginning. This is where fear holds you and there is nothing in your mind, but the fear, that feeds into the hysteria of being trapped. Take a minute and breathe and try using your rationality to help look for a way out. Work on one sword at a time, everything does not need to change overnight or be dealt with in one go. You are powerful. Within this dismal card, lies the clue, seek out help or drop the mentality of the victim. You can free your binds or walk to find help, it is only the hands that are bound after all. Meditation on the Eight Of Swords “The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven..” ― John Milton, Paradise Lost What is holding you captive? - Four of Swords
The Four Of Swords is the picture of a Knight sleeping in a church, his hands in the gesture of prayer, with three swords hanging up on the wall behind him and one by his side. The Four of Swords comes at a time when you have been working too hard and taking on too many battles. It is time to get some rest as the glorious Knight is taking. Sometimes we need to put down our swords and put our hands together to pray. The Oxford dictionary defines a Prayer as an "earnest hope or wish". Since the suit of swords usually deals with mental turmoil and anguish, this means that sometimes we have to let go of things and just exhale. When things seem to be out of your hands, it's best to put our hands together and invoke the universe to intercede. The stained glass in the background has the words Pax meaning Peace written in the background and a woman kneeling to pray to the Virgin goddess. You too will find peace, when you let go and let god. This card reminds you that you have been working too hard and you will be reaching a mental overload or burnout soon. It is essential that you take a rest to rejuvenate and renew your inner self. You have been taking on too many battles. It is time for you to retreat and rest to fight another day. Let someone else take on the charge and address the issues for a change. It is time for you to prioritize which battles you will fight and then take on "one battle at a time". The Knight in the church is after all just resting. Slow down, for now, withdraw from the world, get some rest and you will be ready to get on your way stronger and better. Do the things that nourish your body and your soul. Read a book, watch movies, pray, so that you can return back more tenacious at the end of that break. Meditation On The Four of Swords ”Rest when you’re weary. Refresh and renew yourself, your body, your mind, your spirit. Then get back to work.” – Ralph Marston What have you been working hard on? Have you given yourself the time to heal? What all battles are you fighting at the moment? Which of these can you let go of? Images Used on The Site. - The Two Of Swords
Timing: 23 Sep -02 Oct We see a woman sitting on a block, with the waning moon behind her. She is blocking off her heart chakra by holding two swords perpendicular to each other and is blindfolded. The Two Of Swords mentions a time when you have to make a decision. The decision seems like a painful one to make. You need to choose between two paths and this choice is a hard one since neither of the paths you need to take is appealing. The dread of having to walk the path and the uncertainty of not knowing what to expect is good enough to paralyze anyone. The lady is wearing a blindfold since she has decided to shut out the world and let her intuition lead the way. Sometimes when we do not have enough factual information to make a choice we have to navigate by instinct. Right now is the time when you need to take that leap of faith with what your intuition is telling you and know that your soul or higher guide knows the path you are meant to be on, even if your conscious self is not so sure. As a result, intuition will guide you, and you will pick the choice that is right for you. Even if you feel you are not intuitive enough, trust the process. You are loved and the universe will help you choose. The manner in which the swords are held is not comfortable and this kind of balance will not last long. Considering that she is in a defensive position, it is only a matter of time when she will be tipped away by emotions. If you do not make a choice, the situation will unfold in a manner that a choice will be pushed to you and you will go with the flow. The Two Of Swords is a time that is especially hard since everything seems vague. Whilst the querent knows what their choices are it is hard to pick one since the future of both those paths is equally murky. If only there was more information to be had about what lay further down the path. In the background are the mountains to remind you of two essential facts. The mountains are a reminder of how far you've come and what you have accomplished. Remember you have got this, and the choice you choose will be correct. The second truth that those mountains proclaim is that in a while when seen from a distance, this will just be a story and it will no longer hold sway over you as it is doing now. Trust yourself to do the right thing even if you are not a hundred percent sure about your choice. Meditation on the Two Of Swords “I feel like I am in a constant battle with myself. I am being pushed and pulled in two different directions.” ― Krystalle Bianca. What do you need to make a decision about? Is it a relationship, career, friendship, job, city? What does your instinct tell you? Close the door on the path not taken and do not revisit it. Images Used on The Site. - Five of Cups
The appearance of the Five of Cups is not a welcome sight since it heralds grief. You have been brave and have gone out on a limb and taken risks. Not every risk pays off and certain things did not pan out as you had hoped. All is not lost however and there is something to gain from this experience. A person draped in black with his back to us stands dejected looking at three overturned cups. He has been so enveloped in sorrow that the card itself seems like a silent one. He does not even realize that behind him lie two upright cups representing something that can be salvaged. For now, he is alone with his agony. According to a Swiss-American psychiatrist named Elizabeth Kübler-Ross, the five stages of grief are denial, anger, bargaining where one hangs on to any hope, depression and acceptance. The figure in the Five of Cups has not yet come to terms with his despair and moved on to acceptance. Once he does move to acceptance, then he can turn around, pick up the two upright cups, cross the bridge back to civilization and mourn his loss. For now, he is going through depression. While it is absolutely essential to experience the sorrow of bereavement so that healing can begin, it is also essential to move on from that place and move towards acceptance. You may be going through heartbreak over a relationship or a situation. It is essential to give that thought its due melancholy, however, do realize that all is not lost and there is still something to be gained from that experience. There is never ever any growth without pain, and what you have experienced here may add to your empathy or world view. There is a world of people who care about you, who wait patiently on the other side of the bridge while you take the time to acknowledge that the situation is over now like water under the bridge. Meditations on the Five Of Cups No darkness lasts forever. And even there, there are stars. Ursula K. Le Guin (The Farthest Shore) What has your experience of grief been? What helped you to conquer it? How did you move past grief to acceptance and mourning? What has been left in the upright cups for you, during that experience? When did you see your upright cups? - Ace of Cups
The Ace of Cups is about the overflow of love in our lives. It is absolute, infinite and pervasive love that fills all aspects of our soul. The Ace's in the Tarot, are all gifts from the divine to us. The Ace of Cups in particular features a hand that materializes out of the air and offers us a cup that is overflowing in a manner to amply satiate all five senses as demonstrated by the five overflowing streams from the cup. Have you ever walked around feeling happy for no reason and flowing with love for everyone you come across? What a blissful state of existence! Those are the days when we smile indulgently at situations that would otherwise annoy us. Our heart sings and feels light. This is the imperative at which we were meant to exist, live and thrive. This is the spirit that the divine had envisioned for us and therefore we see the holy dove carrying in the communion wafer into the cup. This is divine love crossing paths with human love- platonic and non-platonic, but all unconditional. The water overflows in the form of yods and a yod is the formative mother letter, of the Jewish script. The streams of water or love fall down into the universal pool of love for every living thing and flow over the lilypads and the lotus flowers. The lotus flower is sacred in the East because it seeds and blooms simultaneously. Hinduism, Buddhism, and the South-East Asian cultures have deities that use the Lotus as their seat. The Lotus blossoms in the swamp yet is a paragon of virtue, purity and beauty! We too can go through life with love in our hearts, untouched by the cynicism that abounds. This one card brings together the major religions to affirm, Love does not divide on any account. It is meant to unite and grow! The more love you give, the more you have. So today, the Ace of Cups, pronounces that this is a period of connection, friendship and happiness. Your troubles will soon fade away and you will be at home, in a nurturing and supportive environment of love. Meditation on the Ace of Cups “The only way love can last a lifetime is if it's unconditional. The truth is this: love is not determined by the one being loved but rather by the one choosing to love.”― Stephen Kendrick, The Love Dare Is there any situation that really tests your patience? If so, think from a place of love. Why does it bother you- are you worried about the future? Let that go since it is not in your control. what you can do is fill the present with love and the future will work itself. Let go of expectations and think with empathy and compassion and see your life change for the better. I particularly loved this method of bringing and holding the love in your heart: “Love is made up of three unconditional properties in equal measure: 1. Acceptance 2. Understanding 3. Appreciation Remove any one of the three and the triangle falls apart. Which, by the way, is something highly inadvisable. Think about it — do you really want to live in a world of only two dimensions? So, for the love of a triangle, please keep love whole.” ― Vera Nazarian, The Perpetual Calendar of InspirationImages Used on The Site. If this Resonates with You Take A Class or Book A Reading . - Two of Cups
“Let there be spaces in your togetherness, And let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls. Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup." ― Khalil Gibran, The Prophet. The Two of Cups shows us a couple who stand next to each other and do not drink from one cup. They each are independent and bring something to the table. The essential part is that they choose to be with each other and to get to know each other while being completely self-sufficient. That is the only manner in which a relationship is sacred. The two people are not with each other because of need or fear or dependence, but choose to be with each other for love. In the background, we see the home that is shown in the card of the Ten Of Cups which implies that they have the potential of a future together with children in it. The Staff of Hermes lies between them as this card is ruled by Mercury the winged messenger of the gods, who rules communication. This is very telling of how to maximize the potential. Good communication is the key to relationships. Seeing the Two of Cups is a sign that you may be in a relationship soon. If you are already in a relationship this reminds you that communication is an ongoing process and that every relationship needs to be renewed along with that first spark that had started it. This card encapsulated that feeling which emerges at the beginning of a relationship. This is that phase when one is literally walking on air and in love, and keeps up thinking about the other person. The Lion represents carnal desires and ego. This is a time when one has possibly not given into carnality. This card today reminds you that you do have people in your life who are your kindred spirits. The Two of Cups above all is a friendship with communication, with the potential to grow into something that could last a lifetime. It is a blessing to have people in our lives that we connect with and this card reminds you to be grateful and give gratitude to the universe for that connection. It is also essential that you do communicate that gratitude to that special person in your life. Meditation On The Two of Cups In friendship or in love, the two side by side raise hands together to find what one cannot reach alone. ― Khalil Gibran. Do you have someone special in your life that you can be yourself with and who completes you? Have you expressed gratitude to that person for being in your life? Do you remember your first crush? Do you recall what it feels like? Try and revive the romance in your relationship. If this Resonates with You Take A Class or Book A Reading . Images Used on The Site. - Three of Cups
The Three of Cups is all about celebration and harvest time. This is, I've discovered in the process of writing the blogs, also a card of gratitude, as all the benevolent cards of the Minor Arcana are. A bountiful harvest and friends to share our joys with is all one needs for happiness and an overflow of joy. The cups are full. There is merrymaking. This is a card of feminine energy and does remind us to be in touch with our feelings and let the goodness flow. While this card could simply be informing you that you have a night out with friends, it can also augur weddings and celebrations. It may mean lunch or a hangout with friends where there is a genuine flow of love, affection, merrymaking and joy. The dancing divas call to mind, the Three Graces from classical literature without whom no celebration could be considered complete. The Graces were named Euphrosyne, Aglaea, and Thalia. Aglaea represented Beauty, Euphrosyne personified Good Cheer and Thalia was the epitome of Youth and Festivities. The Graces were always depicted together, and they became quintessential symbols of joie de vivre. The appearance of the Graces for you reminds you that while we may all lead our busy lives, we are connected and have friends, be it a brotherhood or as the card shows a sisterhood who is there for us to celebrate with. Tap into your inner graces to make the world a beautiful place. The world we see is after all a reflection of our own inner psyche. The appearance of the Three of Cups also reminds you to take a good look at your life and remember you become what you invest into and that also means who you spend time with. Our closest circle reflects our values and we are what we believe and who we invest our time with. Today is the day that you think about them with love, relax out with your village and have a genuinely happy and joyous time with loved ones. The Three Graces, also show up when a dormant talent is coming into fruition, or being manifested. You are a creature of joy, with inner radiance and beauty that is ready to shine. The more joy you give, the more it flows from within!! Do take up the spotlight and fearlessly showcase your talent, charm and personality! Shine on!! Meditation on the Three of Cups Surround yourself with the dreamers and the doers, the believers and thinkers, but most of all, surround yourself with those who see the greatness within you, even when you don’t see it yourself. Edmund Lee This is a card of losing your inhibitions in your close circle of friends. How much do your closest friends know about you? What kind of gatherings with friends, do you enjoy? Are you fond of loud parties or more intimate quieter celebrations? How can you spread the cheer from your own inner Graces and make the world a better place? - Six of Cups
The Six of Cups takes us back to a time when life was simpler and we had lesser cares. The miniature adults or children on the cards are happy gifting each other bouquets and flowers. The Six of Cups is all about the innocence of youth. This could be a fond remembrance of one's childhood or a nostalgic reminiscence of the past. When you see the Six of Cups, it may mean an encounter with someone from your past. The past can be a wondrous place when we were children and had no cares in the world. This is about tuning in to that warm vibe of being cared for and pampered. The heart is always happier in this place and even the small sorrows or mishappenings can be remembered with laughter. This is a card that has the magical rune Gifu shown on the crest. Gifu looks like an X. Gifu means a gift and is a rune of love and happiness. This card thus is a reminder to have gratitude for the little blessings of the universe. Do think of all you have to be grateful for. Have a thought of what brings you the deepest joy and what is your most valued nontangible gift? This card can also represent children. You could be hosting a playdate and be swept with nostalgia into the happy playdates that your parents set up for you. This is a card of deep emotional ties and could also be about you musing about your family or siblings by blood or choice. Meditation On The Six Of Cups Perfect happiness is a beautiful sunset, the giggle of a grandchild, the first snowfall. It’s the little things that make happy moments, not the grand events. Joy comes in sips, not gulps. Sharon Draper What part of your past are you thinking about? What about it do you wish to bring back or recapture? What brought you happiness then and why? Do you feel you can reconnect with that joy now? What simple joys are you grateful for now? Are you working with children, or planning kids? Have you met someone from your past? - Seven of Cups Illusions & Imaginations
What does the Seven of Cups in the tarot imply? The Seven of Cups typically represents a multitude of choices before us and the fact that we can choose what we desire. In my opinion, however, I have realised that the Seven of Cups often appears when we are in a situation that feels stuck, like the one the Kingdom of Shahryar found itself in. Shahryar was the Sultan of the Middle East, whose wife had cheated on him and broken his heart, leaving him bitter. He vowed revenge on the entire sex and thus married a woman for a day, beheading her the very next morning. The 1001 tales of the Arabian Nights were spun by Sheherzade, the beautiful daughter of the Vazeer, in her attempt to reclaim agency in that situation and restore the kingdom to its grandeur. We all know how the beautiful brilliant storyteller daughter of the Vazeer asked her sister to request a story on the night of her wedding to the Sultan, and spun beautiful brilliant stories, which were left at a cliff hanger every morning and the Sultan in his curiosity would keep her alive another day so she could finish the story, when they sat togetner at night. The stories were recorded in the 1001 Tales from the Arabian Nights. At the end of the tales, the Sultan realised he fell in love with the witty Sheherzade, and that not all women were unfaithful. Character was not based on gender. What then does the Seven of Cups mean when it shows up in a reading? The Seven of Cups is thus a testament to our emotional valour and courage when we find ourselves stuck. It is a heart-wrenching thought to consider how I ended up in this situation. In addition, it is the use of storytelling and the imagination as a survival technique. The stories spun by Sheherzade end up reminding us that we, too, can use and frame narrative in many ways. Imagination and illusion can both protect us, as seen in the stories of Sheherzade, and endanger us, as in Shahryar's disillusionment. This is also a reminder that when we direct our imagination with conscious intention, we can harness the creative potential of our Psyche and transform our destiny. Just as she doesn’t change the Sultan's mind immediately, so too is this not the time for action, but rather a wait and see what the imagination can take us to in time. The Seven of Cups has been seen as a negative card, associated with mental fog and deception. The stories of the Arabian Nights truly illustrate the seduction, beauty, and moral traps and lessons inherent in these tales. Perhaps, I love this card despite it being a period where we fight to take back our agency, since for me stories have always been a safe place and when we consciously shape our narratives we do wield a powerful tool to shape our reality and define our identity. For now, dear reader, it may be a time for a poignant reflection on how I arrived here, and a deep dive into the narratives and stories that explain the situation. A more Rider Waite Approach for the cards- With the Seven of Cups, we enter the realm of imagination and the flights of fantasy. This is an excellent card to see if you are a writer or an artist working on a fantastical creation. For most of us, however, it is that phase of daydreaming. We see an androgynous figure lost in what he feels is most important. Seven cups float before him, offering him all the riches. He is dreaming about all that can be. The Seven of Cups turns up when there is an overwhelming number of choices in the offering. The mind somehow snaps into fantasy mode, daydreaming about all the possibilities instead of acting upon them. This is literally the state of building castles in the air!! Nothing concrete gets done, more so since there is an emotional overload. This card may appear when multiple offers are in your queue. You have options, but the card's advice is to be mindful of what you choose, since not all that glitters is gold. Please read the fine print and check everything thoroughly when choosing an option from any cup. On the other hand, if there are no offers, this card suggests that a person is evaluating their life and mentally assessing what each cup offers and what they feel they want most. Seeing this card is a sign to take stock of your life and see it for what it is. It would help to be truthful with yourself so you can know what you need and what is lacking in your life. At the same time, do think of what you have and evaluate if that gives you joy. Do you tend to slip into your dream world to avoid any unpleasantness? Is it a form of escapism? If so, what would you like to leave behind? The seven cups are all suspended in the clouds from the Ace of Cups, which becomes foggy here. This kind of soul searching occurs when a person is not truly happy with his relationship, or when a job is less than what he thought it would be. It is soul-searching that leads to growth, and this is a process. Once a choice is made, it must be backed by hard work. Here fantasies present one with all the trappings of a good life, and the seven cups starting from Left to Right offer a public persona or a mask, your true self, that which you are trying to lift the veil off, rebirth and regeneration, home and personal security, as shown by the castle, riches and victory. It is time to start living your best life now, and you surely can have it within grasp if you choose one goal and work on it wholeheartedly. The visions you have can be brought to life through hard work. You have the vision, now you need an action plan!! All the best!! What does the Seven of Cups mean in a career reading? Excess emotion when making a decision that affects your work and career path is definitely not advised. The Seven’s all reflect the need to reevaluate. This is the time to reassess what truly motivates you. However, it is not the time to decide. If multiple offers have been presented to you, now may not be the time to choose one either. If there is an opportunity for you to defer the decision, please take it. However, if the offer is time-bound, then please do read the fine print so that you are not caught off guard or hit by the Neptunian fogs of Illusion that this card is known to predict. What does the Seven of Cups mean in a love reading? You may be looking at a potential relationship, in terms of the potential it has to evolve into something, or there may be multiple offers of affection hoping for a relationship with you, or you yourself may be trying to choose the best fit from the offers you have. Again, unfortunately, now is not the tme for you to make a choice. Very often, choices made during the Seven of Cups phase are choices that are made under illusions or thinking of what can be. Meditations on the Seven of Cups “We are our choices.”― Jean-Paul Sartre. What kind of a persona do you wish to show to the world? Whom are you trying to please? What is your inner core? What do Riches mean to you? Is it money or something intangible? If it were money, what would you do, and how would your life change more? What does success mean to you? Is it colored by what society dictates as success? Where in your life are you seeking a rebirth or a new beginning? How do you utilise your powers of imagination? Is it to escape life, or is it to fill your bucket and then create something beautiful? Is your imagination a bridge to the world, or is it a way to escape? If it is a means to escape, what are you trying to get away from? How have your choices shaped who you are? Do you feel any regret for a path not taken? Images Used on The Page. - Eight Of Cups Indolence & Letting Go
What does the Eight of Cups imply? The Eight of Cups is a card of courage. It is recognising that something is missing in one's life and leaving behind a workable situation to find what the soul yearns for. When the Eight of Cups appears, there is no more joy in a situation, and there is a feeling of depression, of something missing. The sense of a void in the soul is so overwhelming that one no longer wants a situation that just works. This is something that the person may have really worked hard at. The cups on the card are not discarded . They have been neatly arranged, and someone took the time to do that. However, there is a space for a missing cup, and that is what the figure is seeking. Obviously, this recognition has not transpired overnight. Like the cups arranged, this has been brewing for a while and has reached its climax now. Every now and then, we do lose our way. The figure in this card does not know what he or she wants. All they know is that this current situation is what they don't want. The Eight of Cups is about the end of an era. Things cannot go on this way, as the dissatisfaction outweighs the material comfort or the comfort of the familiar . The figure on the card has been questioning his choices and life, and knows that he cannot live like this anymore and will have to go on to seek what his heart truly desires. This is the step at which one embarks on a personal quest to find and bring back what one's soul truly desires. This figure later becomes the hermit holding out the beacon of light and hope to others. It is said that having the courage to leave this situation behind has given him a new lease on life and he will return to the Nine of Cups with the additional cup which was the missing factor in his life. This is a card of great courage. A lot of people are content to live in a situation that is unhappy and depressing because they are scared of change. This situation has eaten away at the figure who has used this misery, to set himself free and take his chances out there in the unknown, and to give himself a shot at happiness, rather than wilt and let his spirit die. Every great journey begins with a single step and the turning up of the Eight Of Cups shows that you have begun that journey. How do I Meditate on the Eight of Cups “Don't be afraid of the future as it's always uncertain. Your mind and hands together can make your future better. So, don't spend time thinking while doing nothing.” ― Giridhar Alwar, My Quest For Happy Life What is it that you are leaving behind? Do you know what you are searching for? - Nine of Cups The Wish Card
The Nine of Cups is the "wish card". This is about grabbing life with both hands and living your dream life. The Nine of Cups highlights a well-dressed heavyset man, sitting with all his proverbial cups full, displayed behind him. He had obviously set them there himself or supervised them being set up. The Nine of Cups thus is a period of success after hard work and the soul searching led the querent to this point. Everything about this card yells abundance!! Yes, this is about abundance, plenty, banquets and socializing, emotional fulfillment, luxury and of course sitting in the spotlight! The man on this card has the cat got cream expression to it!! And he definitely is confident to display his cherished cups behind him, knowing that they will be safe. So the Nine of Cups asks you to enjoy life, enjoy your success. Pamper yourself today and have a good time. Do remember to share the goodness with the people who helped you achieve your dreams. And you need to take some me-time because you are definitely worth it!! The Universe has its gifts ripe for the taking and it especially is happy to reward those who take it. For me, over the Pandemic, I've begun to call this my Netflix Card!! It is all about filling the pockets of stress and worry about family far away, or of homeschooling with bits of Netflix or Spotify or Reading a book!! The table behind the man does have a cover and that means, he is covering up worry with things that bring joy. If this resonates with you then maybe today your focus is on finding joy. In that case, do remember that Life has cups laid out for you, all you have to do is reach out and get them. Sometimes joy comes from helping others, and helping others helps you to save yourself. At times the Nine of Cups is about finding what your soul truly wants. When that happens, it is a euphoria beyond description and rapture that overflows the cups of feelings we have. We have so many treasures inside of us and here the joy comes from sharing that!! So today, share your happiness and it will multiply ten-fold. May the revelations of what your soul truly wants, be yours!! Live, Dance and Spread the Joy! Meditation on the Nine of Cups Be like the fountain that overflows, not like the cistern that merely contains. Paulo Coelho What Wishes have come to pass? Are you joyful over it? If you are not feeling the joy, what is worrying you? To feel joyful to your soul, reach out and help someone, overflow and that joy will find its way back to you. - Ten Of Swords
What a gory-looking card! A man lies dead on the ground with ten swords pinned in his back. Dawn is on the horizon! Drawing the Ten of Swords means you have hit rock bottom!! Therein lies the good news. If you are rock bottom, then the only way to go is up!! The Swords in the back imply that the person is avoiding something. There are some stresses that build to a point and then one just wants to run away. Avoidance of a problem, unfortunately, does not send it away. In fact the more you push under the carpet, the more there is the potential to catch you off guard. This situation hasn't built up in the span of a day, it is an ongoing one where one had been overwhelmed, stressed and even depressed. The only positive in this situation is that the situation has burnt itself out and will hit rock bottom. Most people who see this card do not see beyond the ten swords and the dead man!! However, the focus of the card is the break of dawn! It is interesting to note that it takes a sword to kill a man, which makes ten for one person an overkill!! Could it be that your situation is not as dismal as you have made it out to be? Visualize your situation a year from now and see how much of an impact it can have. Maybe all is not as awful as you make it out to be. Notice the gestures of the fingers of the man. His tunic and his fingers link him to the Hierophant. This could mean that you are in the situation you are in because of your beliefs. You need to be sure that they were worth fighting for. Now the situation has come to an end, and a new dawn will emerge. As with every ending, you need to drop that which does not serve you and move on. Meditation on the Ten Of Swords "When we hit our lowest point, we are open to the greatest change." -Aang The Legend of Korra What situation has hit rock bottom? Now that the situation is over, are you ready to make a move to something better? Are you exaggerating your situation? If not, are your beliefs worth putting up this fight for? If the answer is affirmative, what do you need to change to progress? All tens talk about completion and this will soon be a situation that will find closure.
