Three of Cups

Updated: Mar 18, 2021

Urban soul tarot 3 of cups

The Three of Cups is all about celebration and harvest time. This is, I've discovered in the process of writing the blogs, also a card of gratitude, as all the benevolent cards of the Minor Arcana are. A bountiful harvest and friends to share our joys with is all one needs for happiness and an overflow of joy. The cups are full. There is merrymaking. This is a card of feminine energy and does remind us to be in touch with our feelings and let the goodness flow. While this card could simply be informing you that you have a night out with friends, it can also augur weddings and celebrations. It may mean lunch or a hangout with friends where there is a genuine flow of love, affection, merrymaking and joy. The dancing divas call to mind, the Three Graces from classical literature without whom no celebration could be considered complete. The Graces were named Euphrosyne, Aglaea, and Thalia. Aglaea represented Beauty, Euphrosyne personified Good Cheer and Thalia was the epitome of Youth and Festivities. The Graces were always depicted together, and they became quintessential symbols of joie de vivre. The appearance of the Graces for you reminds you that while we may all lead our busy lives, we are connected and have friends, be it a brotherhood or as the card shows a sisterhood who is there for us to celebrate with. Tap into your inner graces to

make the world a beautiful place. The world we see is after all a reflection of our own inner psyche. The appearance of the Three of Cups also reminds you to take a good look at your life and remember you become what you invest into and that also means who you spend time with. Our closest circle reflects our values and we are what we believe and who we invest our time with. Today is the day that you think about them with love, relax out with your village and have a genuinely happy and joyous time with loved ones. The Three Graces, also show up when a dormant talent is coming into fruition, or being manifested. You are a creature of joy, with inner radiance and beauty that is ready to shine. The more joy you give, the more it flows from within!! Do take up the spotlight and fearlessly showcase your talent, charm and personality! Shine on!! Meditation on the Three of Cups Surround yourself with the dreamers and the doers, the believers and thinkers, but most of all, surround yourself with those who see the greatness within you, even when you don’t see it yourself. 1. This is a card of losing your inhibitions in your close circle of friends. How much do your closest friends know about you?

  2. What kind of gatherings with friends, do you enjoy? Are you fond of loud parties or more intimate quieter celebrations?

  3. How can you spread the cheer from your own inner Graces and make the world a better place?
